“The deepest gift I can give to myself is the time to simply be and sit with myself. To feel time and space inside of my heart and to be in a state of bliss as I form gratitude for eternity.”
The rain has barely stopped for more than a day here in Santa Cruz, California and to be honest, I am loving every moment of it. There is something unique about the rain. For me, it brings a sense of solitude and hibernation that starts to fuel a strong flame for creativity. All I have been looking forward to after a day of work is to first take a moment and walk, run, or dance under the rain- get muddy and let the rain completely purify my mind. I then journey straight home and bury myself in the fire of passion. I put on my favorite music, some comfortable clothing, light some candles and the imagination just starts to blossom and bloom into an exquisite seed of embrace.
I have had moments of forgetting about this exquisite solitude. How important is it for us to just simply be with ourselves? Adore ourselves for the tears, the laughs, the blockages and the grace of flow; for all of these sides are our teachers which are filled with expansive lessons. A never ending form of abundance. How do we grow unless we learn? How do we learn unless we find the time to sit with ourselves and ourselves only, folding and holding in our own embrace? One of these magical nights after playing with tinctures of apothecary, I got inspired to create a new “hot chocolate.” I filled my island with herbs and medicines that would fill this cup and soon my senses were overwhelmed with joy.
The aroma of chocolate mixed with roses and cinnamon. The creamy texture from coconut cream and whole raw cashews. The nutty flavor from the maca which will act as fuel for my hormones. The immune support and energy from the cordyceps. The oh so sweetness from the fresh maple. One sip of this put me in a state of ecstasy. I hope it acts in the same form for you and I hope it helps fuel your fire of passion in what ever you do with your evenings. May we thank the seasons and all of what they bring for nature’s seeds of embrace are the nourishment, the lessons, that fuel our life for expansion and growth.
1/4 cup raw cacao powder
1/4 cup coconut cream
2/4 -1/3 filtered water
3 tbl dried rose hips
2 sticks cinnamon ( I smash them on a cutting board under a towel )
1 tsp vanila
2 tsp Maca Powder
1/4 cup cashews
2 tbl maple syrup
1 tbl Sunpotion cordyceps ( optional )
Start by putting the first section of ingredients into a sauce pan, Simmer and stir with a whisk. Let it sit on low for five minutes.
Place the cashews only into the blender
Strain the mixture into the blender so the cinnamon and rose pieces don’t get mixed into the blender ** ONLY JUST ENOUGH TO COVER THE CASHEWS FIRST
Blend on high speed till smooth then add the rest of the liquid and the remaining ingredients
If you want it to me more chocolaty just add 1-2 tbls of cacao
Be merry, you are blessed already
Enjoy <3
